What does the service do?
1 in 4 people experience mental health difficulties and many do not access help. Talking Matters is a new service designed to help anyone deal with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety or depression, as well as panic, phobia and OCD.
Is the Service for me?
Offering a range of talking therapies, this confidential service is open to you if you are aged 18+, live in the Kent and Medway area, if your mental health is causing you concern and is affecting your employment, your health or your home life. This service is also able to offer specialist support if you are from the deaf community or have served in the armed forces.
What can I expect?
Talking Matters provides talking therapies which will help you to gain a better understanding of your problems, and to identify possible actions to overcome them.
Treatment Options Provided
We offer a range of talking therapies and you will be offered those which best suit your needs, expectations and personal situation.
These treatments include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CCBT)
- Guided Wellbeing Course
- Psycho-Educational/ Group Therapy
- Telephone Support
- Time online
How do I access the service?
You can be referred by your GP or self-refer by calling the number below, and selecting the area you require. In most cases you will be able to see a therapist in your local area, at your doctors’ surgery or in a variety of other locations. Please visit our “Referring to us” page for further information.
