‘Being Active Matters’ Celebrates Time to Talk Day 2019

Physical activity including walking is known to have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing. Ramblers in association with MIND and Rethink Mental Illness are running a campaign to get people walking and talking about mental health and end the stigma on Time to Talk Day 7th February 2019 and are encouraging walking groups to have conversations about mental health on their walks during the first week of February.

Talking Matters Northumberland Being Active Matters project have supported this campaign by joining Active Northumberland on one of their free health walks today in Haltwhistle. We enjoyed a lovely scenic walk on a sunny winter day, thank you to everyone on the walk for being so friendly and welcoming!

Further information about Active Northumberland’s health walks can be found on their website.
